Social isolation and loneliness are growing public health concerns that can have a significant impact on overall health and well-being. For rural communities, geographic distance, limited resources, and fewer opportunities for connection can create additional barriers to building and maintaining strong social relationships.
This session will explore the connection between relationships and health, including how social relationships influence physical and emotional well-being. Participants will learn practical strategies for strengthening social connections and building community capacity to address loneliness as a public health issue. The session will also highlight how rural communities and practitioners can use the power of relationships to support healthier, more connected communities.
